Mercedes-Benz C 200 2015 246ps
Mercedes Benz automobiles are starting to use more and more turbocharged petrol engines instead of the common supercharged that were used in previous years.Of course using the direct injection system as most of the manufacturers are, they achieved great performance and fuel efficiency on small and big displacement engines.
Our stage 2 tune was flashed in a 2015 C200 7G-tronic using the Bosch med17.7.2 engine management system. The ecu was reprogrammed on the bench using boot mode configuration as the protection algorithm does not allow flashing software over obd2 ports at the moment.
Originally this version comes with 184Ps(181bhp) and 300nm but clearly with the use of a premium 100 octane fuel the car outperformed on our dyno showing 197Ps and 335nm on the crankshaft.Surprisingly all new models are showing either more horse power or more torque with the use of good fuel.
After our initial measurement we re-flashed the car with our stage 2 software using k-tag tricore module in bootmode. The results were as expected on a totally stock car, 246ps and 456nm gaining almost 50ps and 130nm with just software proves that those engines have a great potential if some peripheral parts are upgraded. The reason of a stage 2 tune is that this car will get more parts in the next few days(complete exhaust system and air filter).
Here you can see the initial afr measurements with our wide-band datalogging system as well as the afr levels after our stage 2 tune.We always need to protect the engine so we moved our afr to a lower 11.1 from 12.1 and we kept the middle range at 12.2 instead of 14.4 that the stock software is programmed to do.Those measurements and changes are only at WOT(wide open throttle) and are not affecting negatively the fuel efficiency of the engine while cruising.
