Scirocco R is continuing the legacy of the old ground braking vw model by introducing their tfsi technology into this great FWD car. This is a 2010 Vw scirocco R version equipped with a 2.0l Tfsi engine and a k04 turbocharger as in the Golf 6 R – S3 8P – TTs and Seat Cupra R.
This car is als using the well know Bosch Med9.1 engine management system (ecu) and with our stage 1 software this car will become more fun and efficient then you can imagine. Initially this car is missing some throttle response and a little bit of overtaking power.All the R model are well equipped with everything you need to get 50 60 or 70 ps and with some small peripheral parts you can easily get +80 or +90 ps and even 120 to 140nm of torque.So lets check our stage 1 tune in a totally stock car.
In this case there is no point in comparing the stock to the tuned diagram as we later found out that there was a blown hose on the car due to a bad service station that has forgot to tighten up the intake hose clamp on the car.However the tuned numbers are clear and steady through the power-band producing the final number of 312 ps and 471 nm on a fully stock car.The boost levels are 1.7bar over boost and 1.4 bar of constant boost through the rpm limiter with the use of 98 octane fuel.Next thing is the afr comparison.
Our software as you see has a flat line of 11.5 : 1 AFR which makes it suitable for 95 and 98 octane fuel instead of the 10,x : 1 that is running as stock.When the maximum boost and maximum torque is coming the afr is 12.2:1 which is also optimal for low octane rating fuel. Egt will stay below 900 degrees Celsius at full throttle no matter the stress of the engine or the intake air temperature.
Our client has kept this car bone stock without any kind of modifications so you can imagine the gains that can be achieved by just replacing the factory air filter and the factory exhaust and catalytic converter.As in most cases those kind of engines can pull out a lot of torque and power if you add the correct parts.
For the spark plugs we recommend the iridium Ngk Pfr 7 Q or the Denso IK24.A nice upgrade would also be the red coil packs that are utilized in the r8 and rs4 fsi engines with the following code 06E905115E and they are considered unbreakable while are also being used as an upgrade in the 1.8t 20vt engine.
